Made from FSC certified, 100% post-consumer waste paper and less than 4% casein adhesive glaze and ink, they are sustainable from start to finish. Free from phthalates and other chemicals found in plastics, you don’t have to be concerned about what might be leaching into your lip balm from a plastic tube. Our tubes are durable and fully biodegradable; they can last over a year with regular use and yet can break down to soil in just 2 weeks when composted.
With a simple squeeze design and an airtight lid, they are easy to use and leak free. On this point the eco-tubes blow the competition out of the water. We found that the kraft tubes currently on the market feature a push up mechanism which can easily misalign, resulting in product leaking out of the base. Each tube holds 0.21oz, nearly 1.5x the amount in a standard plastic lip balm tube.
To maximize the lifespan of your eco-tube, minimize exposure to water and avoid placing them where they might be dented or squished. Eco-tubes are fairly robust and can withstand exposure to water, however it should be kept to a minimum to retain maximum durability.
